Field Trip Guidelines
The following field trip restrictions are currently in place:
- No international field trips are permitted.
- Field trips within the United States are permitted.
The
following are general FCPS field trip guidelines:
- A parent can always choose to excuse his or her child (opt out) from any
instructional field trip without instructional penalty, if the parent is concerned
about safety.
- There remains a possibility that a travel ban could be imposed in the future,
based on world events. If future travel restrictions should be imposed, the
school system would not be liable for any monies spent in advance.
- Non-school-sponsored trips (such as an overseas trip led by a foreign language
teacher) are not under FCPS jurisdiction. The school division strongly advises
teachers to cancel these trips. Such trips are not sponsored by FCPS and the
school system has no liability for them.
FCPS policies
and directives related to field trips can be reviewed at this site.
