Two FCPS Certified Athletic Trainers Participate In The IFWLA
World Lacrosse Championships in Australia
Kathy Ayers, ATC Head Athletic Trainer at Annandale HS, served as certified athletic trainer for the gold medal winning United States U-19 Women's Lacrosse Team in Perth, Australia. Ayers has worked with the US team since the national selections in May of this year, as well as with the 1995 team. She was responsible for evaluating, treating and rehabilitating all of the teams injuries throughout their preparation for, and participation in this World Cup Tournament.
Nancy Burke, ATC was the onsite medical liaison for the IFWLA WORLD LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN AUSTRAILIA. Burke has been the certified athletic trainer at South Lakes HS since the school opened its doors. In Australia, Burke coordinated local medical contacts and assisted teams in accessing medical coverage and follow-up care. She also conducted numerous safety clinics for participating coaches from around the world.
