A parent or guardian of a student enrolled
in FCPS may request a student transfer for his or
her school-aged child (K-12) from their base
school for the next school year during transfer season.
Important Notes:
FCPS approves a transfer request for very specific
reasons as outlined in Regulation
2230. They are:
1. Family relocation

2. Child care hardship
(elementary only) *
3. Medical, emotional,
social, or family adjustment hardship *
4. FCPS parent employee
working 20+ hours/week
5. High School Curricular
program
* Regulation 2230 requires that applicants must
provide specific documentation to support the transfer
request.
Application Procedure and Deadlines
1. Students must be enrolled in their base
school before starting the application
procedure. Registration information is available at
www.fcps.edu/ss/StudentServices/StudentRegistration/.
Unsure about your base school? Boundary information

2. You must complete the appropriate transfer application
by the end date for your child to be considered for
a transfer for school year 2008-09. There are three
types of transfer requests:

In the absence of extenuating circumstances,
late applications will not be processed. |
Late applications will not be accepted
except for extenuating circumstances.
