The following is a list of other FCPS and Fairfax County Government sites that may be helpful resources to parents and others involved with preschool-aged children and/or early childhood special education:

Family Services and Involvement Section (FSIS): http://www.fcps.edu/DIS/OECFS/FLI

FSIS works with schools and the community to strengthen parent involvement and education. FSIS supports school-sponsored programs for families by providing speakers, on-site child care, staff development, and technical assistance in program design. FSIS library services include 1600 books, videos, and articles in eight languages available to schools. Schools use FSIS staff, speakers, and resources for programs to build school-family partnerships.

The Parent Resource Center's library offers parents and professionals a valuable collection of resources including books, journals, periodicals, and videos to assist them in better understanding children with special needs, family interaction, education, and roles and responsibilities in the special education process.

Office of Early Childhood and Family Services: http://www.fcps.k12.va.us/DIS/OECFS/fecep/

This office is responsible for: (a) school support for the preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary grades; (b) direct administration of the Family and Early Childhood Education Program serving 960 students and their families, the Head Start Transition Project serving approximately 300 students and families in K-3, and the Parent Child Center serving 50 infants and families at risk; (c) operation of the Parenting Education Center which supports school sponsored programs for families, parent education programs, library services and volunteer coordination; and (d) collaboration and coordination with county, state, and federal agencies to acquire additional grant funding for at-risk students and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
