Serving
Up Success for Students in the Inclusive Classroom
The
current trend in the education movement is
inclusion. It is quickly becoming a reality
in many schools across the nation. However,
it is a challenge to meet the diversity of
needs that students with special needs bring
to the inclusive classroom.
At
the 2001 Closing the Gap Conference, four
ITS staff members* presented on the subject
of inclusion. The presentation included a
website that focused on ways to successfully
serve students receiving special education
services in inclusive classrooms who are
working toward academic credit and standards-based
benchmarks.
