Brett
started working at ITS in 1997 as a technology
resource teacher. He now serves as the SBTS for
the Interagency Alternative Schools where his
primary role is to coordinate technology services.
Before coming to ITS, he taught English in Japan,
taught at the Juvenile Detention Center, and
worked at Hemlock Overlook Outdoor Education
Center.
Kathy has been working for ITS since 1997.
She provides assistive technology support to
middle and high school teachers that serve
students with special needs. Before coming
to ITS, she spent her teaching career as a
teacher of students with emotional disabilities
at the middle and high school level.
In
the fall of 1998, Brett and Kathy "discovered" an
interest in each other. Before long, an office
romance started. By February of 1999, they
announced their engagement. While many ITS
staff members were surprised, there were a
few who were very observant and not surprised
at all. Marriage followed in the fall of 1999.
Recently they were happy to announce the arrival
of their first baby, expected in July of 2002.
(The fifth ITS baby of the year!)
