ITS Presents: the 2nd Rate Conference

Mark Saturday, November 17, 2001 on your calendar! On this date the staff of Integrated Technology Services (ITS) will be conducting our 2nd RATE (Real Assistive Technology for Everyone) Conference at Rachel Carson Middle School. The conference will begin at 8 AM and will feature over 30 sessions held in three 90-minute blocks. More than 21 of these sessions will be hands-on and held in Carson's computer labs. Last year's 1st RATE Conference was a rousing success and this year's 2nd RATE Conference will be even bigger and better! Registration will begin shortly and if you are receiving this Tech Talk on your Outlook account that means you're on our mailing list and will receive notification. Attendance will be limited to the first 250 registrations and is limited to Fairfax County staff. Vendors have already donated some wonderful door prizes! You don't want to miss this one!

More ITS Family News

The ITS family just won't stop growing! In the September issue of Tech Talk we announced the marriage of two ITS staff members as well as three pregnancies. And now there are four…Congratulations to Sandy Cohen who is expecting in May 2002!

Users Groups

During the 1st semester this year, ITS staff will be developing "User Groups" for a variety of assistive technology software packages. Programs such as BoardMaker, Co:Writer, IntelliTalk II, PixWriter and Write:Outlook will be among the first for which groups will be developed. Staff members who are using specific software programs with their students will be asked to respond to an email inquiry and once on the specific user group list, will receive notices of training, updates, tips, etc.
