Assistive Technology Services announces the
Real Assistive Technology for Everyone
(R.A.T.E.) Conference

What is it?
The R.A.T.E. conference is an educational technology conference presented by Assistive Technology Services (ATS) which focuses on strategies for using assistive technology hardware, software, and peripherals to enhance learning for all students, and especially for those with special needs.

Who can attend?
FCPS staff and parents of students who receive special education services are invited to attend. Although we are advertising this conference mainly to special education staff, we welcome general education staff to attend and urge special education staff to encourage their participation. 

When is it?
The R.A.T.E. Conference will be held Saturday, November 7th, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (sign-in from 7:45-8:15).

Where will it be held?
As in the past, the R.A.T.E. conference will be at Rachel Carson Middle School (13618 McLearen Rd., Herndon, VA 20171).

How do I get to Rachel Carson Middle School from my house?

How do I register to attend?
Registration must be returned by October 30th.    Simply print out the registration form, fill in your personal information and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for each session. Then FAX or mail the completed registration form to ATS, both the FAX # and address are on the form.   Because space is limited, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  Registration must be confirmed before attending the conference.  When possible, confirmation will be sent out via email.  FCPS employees must register via MyPLT (myplt.fcps.edu)
