Steps to Creating a Link Page

All Netscape Communicator tools are located in the bottom, right corner of the Netscape screen

  • You may choose a color scheme or use a downloaded image from the Internet.
  • This is also the area where you may give your page a title

4) Format your title using the Navigation bar at the top of the screen. This works very similar to Microsoft Word or ClarisWorks.

5) Insert an Image to stylize your page

  • Click on the Image Button or
  • Go to Insert and down to Image on the menu bar
  • Click on Choose File to pick an image
  • There is no clip art gallery for Composer so all of your images must be downloaded and saved or taken from another clip art gallery
(To go to the Microsoft Office Clip Art Gallery, Go to C: - Program Files - Microsoft Office - ClipArt)
  • Change the alignment of the text by clicking on one of the buttons showing text wrapping

6) Use tables to organize you links

  • Click on the Table Button or
  • Go to Insert and down to Table, then Table on the menu bar
  • Choose the number of rows and columns for your table
  • Change the Table width to the size of the screen you want it to appear on
  • Uncheck Equal Column width

7) Link your text

  • Highlight the text you wish to link
  • Click the Link Button or
  • Go to Insert and down to Link
  • Type the address that you wish to link to

8) Once your table is completed, save the page.

9) Click on the Preview Button to see what your page looks like as a web page. (Notice your page opens in Netscape Navigator.)

10) Close the preview and make any adjustments to the look of your page.
