Business Advisory Council's (BAC)
COLLABORATING WITH BUSINESS
CONNECTING TO CAREERS

Over 1,000 businesses in Northern Virginia support Career and Transition Services in providing a broad array of experiences for students with disabilities. Students learn job skills and work behaviors that foster employment success through such activities as:

  • Paid Employment
  • Non-paid Work Experience
  • Internships
  • Job Shadowing
  • Tours of Business Sites
  • Employer Guest Speakers
  • Informational Interviews about Career Opportunities

The Career and Transition Business Advisory Council's (BAC) mission is to advise and support FCPS by creating opportunities that are mutually beneficial to students and the business community. BAC activities include:

  • Assessing labor market needs in order to identify skill requirements for current and future employees
  • Expanding training and employment opportunities for students
  • Designing public relations and educational activities to increase business involvement
