staff may use interpreters for parent-teacher conferences, school meetings
and to contact you by phone.
Please contact your child's school counselor if you need an interpreter.
10.
What if my child has a health or medical need?
School clinics are staffed by a clinic room aide who is not a medical professional,
but is trained by the Fairfax County Health Department and supervised by
a school public health nurse (PHN). The PHN, who is responsible for several
schools, provides interpretation of medical/health information; trains school
staff in health procedures; consults with parents or guardians, medical personnel
and school staff as appropriate; and serves as a health resource.
