Conflict Resolution Specialist

Marjorie Bleiweis became the SDFY Conflict Resolution Specialist in August 2002. She has a B.S. degree in Education from the University of Maryland and a M.Ed. degree in Counseling from the University of Maryland. She has been a Family Mediator for over twelve years. She is a mentor mediator with the Northern Virginia Mediation Service specializing in Family Mediations. Marge holds mediator certification from the Supreme Court of Virginia for General District Court, Circuit Court, Family and Juvenile, and Domestic Relations Court. She is also a certified trainer. Before joining the Safe and Drug Free Youth Section, Marge was an elementary school counselor for seventeen years where she first began working with peer mediation programs.

Interns
Interns provide support for the many projects undertaken by the Conflict Resolution program in the Safe and Drug Free Youth Section. As interns, they have an opportunity to gain experience in a practical setting and assist the other staff members. Example duties that interns might assist with include curriculum development, helping implement peer mediation programs, and providing support for trainings and conferences.
