The Shoe Drive ends tomorrow. Please bring in old tennis shoes and gently used dressy shoes. There will be two gift card winners drawn today and tomorrow on “Stallion Spotlight.”

Congratulations to our High School and Middle School Art students for their strong performance at the 2012 Regional Scholastic Art Competition.
ZAIRA QURESHI and HOLLY ASHTON both won a Gold Key award for their single entry drawings and Brian Dunbar won a Silver Key for his “Heart of Gold” sculpture. Our Middle School winners include Alexandra Moseley who won a Silver Key for her work entitled “Missing” and Emily Cheryl Grimes won a Certificate of Merit for drawing entitled “South Dakota”. - The Art Department would like to announce an art contest to design the cover of the 2012-2013 SCSS School Planner!
The design must include:
- The words, Integrity, Honesty, Empathy, Respect and Diligence.
- An eye catching image or logo that represents these positive behavior traits.
- The NEW EXTENDED deadline is March 1st. Submissions must be turned in digitally on Blackboard.
- The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate for ITunes!

WIDA Speaking Tests will take place all day in the library on February 9th and 10th. Middle School speaking tests will take place both on Thursday and Friday, while High school Speaking tests will take place on Friday only. Students have passes, and will be sent back to class after they complete the test.
- Do your parents need a night out? Then tell them about the Class of 2013’s Parents Night Out fundraiser. On February 10, parents can enjoy a night out after dropping off their elementary-aged children for an evening of entertainment; the night goes from 6-9 pm in the bubble and will consist of dinner, games, activities and a movie. There is no charge—but donations are appreciated. To participate, email SCSSClassof2013@gmail.com.
- February is CTE month and the CTE department will be celebrating on Monday, February 13 at 2:30 in the Auditorium. All CTE students (both middle and high school) are invited to the celebration. Mr. George Washington, Owner and CEO of Qubic LLC will be the quest speaker. This will be a wonderful opportunity to network so plan to attend.
- NHS members who are interested in submitting a Talent Show t-shirt design are reminded that the deadline for submitting designs is Monday, February 13. All designs should be submitted to Ms. Jeanblanc in room A111 by the end of the day on 2/13. If you have questions about design requirements, please refer to the Talent Show handout found on the NHS Blackboard site or contact Ms. Jeanblanc.
- Surprise your sweetie with a carnation on Valentines Day. Order yours from the Freshman class in the cafeteria during HS lunches. 1 carnation is $2 and 2 carnations are $3. Middle School students, don’t forget to buy your Valentine grams at A & B lunches.

CPP Meeting-Thursday, February 9 @ 2:30 room B204. Come to the 1st Annual Regional CPP Parent Coffee Thursday, February 9, 7:00pm @ Hayfield Secondary School located in the Middle School Lecture Hall.
- Reminder that boys lacrosse equipment pass out for Juniors and Seniors will be this Thursday, February 9th at 230pm in the boys locker room.Freshman and Sophomore equipment pass out will be February 16th.

- This is a reminder that Talent Show auditions will take place on Tuesday, February 28th, Wednesday February 29th, and Thursday March 1st.
If you are interested in auditioning, please stop by Ms. Scott’s room (B232) to pick up an information packet. Remember that you must return your registration form before you can sign up for an audition time.
- Congratulations, Varsity Mathletes! We had a perfect team score yesterday afternoon! Ryan Alcantara, Jacklin Byers, Josh Carey, Tyler Lam, and Abhijit Singh each scored a perfect 6 out of 6 correct! We had an individual score of 30 points. The team of Ryan Alcantara, Josh Carey, Tyler Lam and Abhijit Singh as well as the team of Alex Stern, Jack Proctor, Bryan Powell and Nathan Reeb each scored a perfect 5 out of 5 correct!
This brings our total school score to 35 points! Our first perfect school score!! Next meet: March 14th, 2012. Nice job, Math Stallions!
