Your Stallion Spirit Store is once again looking for pictures of you in your We Are SOUTH COUNTY T’s and sweatshirts! Be part of it! All photos will be included in the display, so bring them by the front office or the spirit store in Room A142.
The second issue of the student newspaper, The Courier, was distributed during 4th period yesterday. If teachers need additional copies, or did not receive their class set, please let Ms. Floto know via email and the journalism students will see that you receive your copies. If any individual needs a newspaper, you can always pick one up from the newspaper rack outside the attendance office.
The Senior Class is sponsoring a poinsettia fundraiser. Each senior will receive a poinsettia fundraiser packet in government classes. Return order forms to the main office by November 20. The senior that sells the most poinsettias will win two free prom tickets.
If you want to take the American Mathematics Competition test on February 9, please remember to bring your $4 to Room B144 by Wednesday of next week. Questions? See your Math teacher or Mrs. Anton in Room B144.
Come support South County’s It’s Academic team this Saturday at 11:30, as they compete against Gar-Field High and Richard Montgomery High (currently ranked #27 in the nation) in a televised match at the NBC4 studios. See Mr. Pratt in Room A119 for more information and a free ticket to the taping.
The GSA will meet on Monday, November 23 after school in Room C120.
Any 8th graders who would like to join the Civics club should come to Room B124 on Monday after school. We will be learning about important American documents and discussing a field trip to the National Archives in December. Contact Mr. Miller if you have any questions.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes needs your help: We will be creating Christmas and thank you cards for the troops this Monday after school. We will meet in Room A154. All are welcome to attend and to help show our appreciation this holiday season to the troops.

Join us in sorting and boxing clothing for the Haiti Container Project Wednesday, November 18 from 4-6 at a home in the Crosspointe neighborhood. Last night, the volleyball team defeated the number 1 team in the state Frank Cox High School from Virginia Beach. The team won the first 2 sets, lost the next 2 sets, and finally pushed to a nail-biting 18-16 win in set number 5. The team will be competing for South County’s first state championship on Saturday against Loudoun Valley. The match will begin at 2:30 at the Seigel Center on the VCU campus. We hope to have a huge fan following at the match. Come down, fill the stands, and cheer your team onto a state championship!
