The Career Center is a service of the Student Services Department. The Career Center provides a framework of career awareness, career exploration, and career preparation activities for students to make the essential connection between school and career. They are prepared for this transition by understanding self and others, exploring occupations, making decisions, acquiring work skills and planning for life. The success of this transition depends on the cooperative effort of students, parents, teachers, counselors, and the community.

Family Connections
All 9-12 students have access to Family Connections on their Blackboard 24/7 account. Family Connections is an online tool that provides all FCPS high school students with resources to plan for life after high school. Sections include "About Me" where students can store information about their favorite career and college options, create a resume, and complete career assessments. The Careers section allows students to view information about different career paths including job descriptions, salaries, and education needed. The College section helps students select colleges that they may be academically competitive for admission in addition to college searches, admissions, and scholarships. Students can also track their applications, and transcript requests
on Family Connections. For further information please contact the Career Specialist or Counselor.

* Naviance On the Go:

Students can now take Naviance on the go with the Naviance Student mobile app for iPhone® and iPod touch®. Naviance Student is fully synced with
Family Connection so students will have all of their most important information wherever they may be at school, at home or on their phone.
