Community Leadership Council (CLC)
The Fairfax County School Board established the Community Leadership Council (CLC) to engage the knowledge, expertise, and energy of the CLC membership and combine it with that of other Fairfax County leaders for the betterment of our students and our schools.
The School Board adopted a governance structure whereby they challenged themselves to more effectively engage the community about matters fundamental to sustaining high-quality public education. The Council supports a very important part of the Board's efforts to “link” with the community at various levels. The establishment of regular and effective two-way communication with a broadly represented and key group of opinion leaders has enhanced the Board's understanding of new trends, needs, and community concerns and has helped the Board develop strategies to address them. Additionally, the Council is a “sounding board” that enables the Board to receive constructive feedback about FCPS' strategic direction and quickly obtain a breadth of perspectives not otherwise possible through our other activities.
