About the Program
The Great Beginnings: Expanding Your Horizons Teacher Induction Program is designed for third-year elementary teachers. These teachers are invited to continue their professional collaboration and networking with colleagues, while expanding opportunities for dialogue and reflection about their practice and profession.

 

The Program Format
Teacher action research is the basis for the program.  Throughout the school year, participants will meet with colleagues and their Great Beginnings coach to develop an action research that will help them investigate their professional practice and reflect upon its impact on student learning.  Not only will teachers learn more about their own practice, but they will also have an avenue to find out what their colleagues are learning as well.

 

Who Enrolls in Great Beginnings:
Expanding Your Horizons

All participants for the program must meet either of the following criteria:

  • Have been teaching in Fairfax County Public Schools for a minimum of two years
  • Have completed the Enriching The Experience Program
