Program Description |
The annual Pathways to Leadership Conference is held the second Tuesday in March for instructional employees (teachers, assistant principals and central office personnel) who want to explore leadership opportunities within the school district.
The conference agenda typically consists of the Division Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of the Department of Professional Learning and Accountability who provide a welcome and greetings. Also during the conference there are special speakers and leadership experts who share practical experiences, as well as breakout sessions focused on cohort information meetings. |

| Themes are chosen based on the latest needs, concerns, and/or latest leadership initiative of FCPS. Resources can include but not limited to the FCPS Leadership Standards, the FCPS School-Based Evaluation Standards for Administrators, and the FCPS Student Achievement Goals. |

Conference Announcements/Registration |
Announcements about the conference begin in January. Also check the PLA site, look for flyers in your schools and departments, or ask your principal for information. Registration takes place in February, exactly one month prior to the event.

Question- Is attending this conference required if I want to pursue a school-based administrative position?
Answer- No, the conference is not required. However, attending the conference gives you an advantage on understanding the competitiveness of PLT-sponsored programs. It also gives you a great opportunity to network and meet current and aspiring administrators in FCPS, and provides great panel discussions for you to dialogue with current administrators about their practice. |
