Program Description |
| The Accelerated Certification Cohort (ACC) enrolls motivated and experienced FCPS employees to work toward a Virginia license in educational administration. This learning cohort is made up of high performing FCPS teacher leaders who have demonstrated the skills necessary to pursue advanced leadership opportunities within FCPS. |
Curriculum/Components |
The curriculum offerings focus on personal mastery, case study methodology analysis, data-informed decision making, instructional leadership, and other leadership issues. Participants also attend the Aspiring Leaders Institutes.
During the one-year program, ACC members are mentored by ACC graduates and develop a project focused on improving student achievement in FCPS schools. ACC sessions are led by university faculty, as well as PLA staff and strategic partners. |

Application Process |
| Candidates can review the required application materials at this site in the fall of 2009. Candidates must submit their application to the Department of Professional Learning and Accountability (PLA) during the spring selection process window, which will begin one week prior to the annual Pathways to Leadership Conference. It will also be advertised on the "What's New" section of the PLA site in March.

Question- When are the information meetings held?
Answer- Information meetings are always during the annual Pathways to Leadership Conference, Timelines and information will also be found in the Supergram, as well as on the PLA web site.
Question- If I miss the application deadline, can I still enroll?
Answer- No. Each applicant will be required to meet several timelines throughout the selection process. The selected participants will plan the year’s class schedule, as well as register and prepare for the School Leaders Licensure Assessment, a requirement for the Virginia Administrative Endorsement. The participants progress through the program at a set, organized and sequential pace. |
