The Great Beginnings teacher induction classes are designed to support first-year teachers, second and third year teachers as well as teachers who may have a wealth of experience in the profession, but are new to Fairfax County Public Schools.
The Great Beginnings: The Next Generation Program provides strong support during the critical first year of teaching. All new instructional employees meet throughout the year in monthly after-school seminars in grade-level or content -area specific cohorts. The Great Beginnings Program provides essential information and support to teachers preparing them for the first days of school and transitioning them to the Professional Learning Community of Fairfax County teachers. Teachers in the program also form collegial relationships with other beginning teachers while learning from one another.
The Program Format
The Great Beginnings: The Next Generation Program consists of two parts: the week-long Summer Institute and After School Cohort Seminars.
