Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program

Background

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) actively participates in the Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange provides opportunities for teachers to participate in direct exchanges of positions with colleagues from other countries. FCPS supports full academic year exchanges.

Professional Learning for FCPS Teachers

Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange provides teachers with the opportunity to:

  • Gain an understanding and appreciation of the similarities and differences in national cultures and education systems
  • Enrich their own schools and communities with an awareness of other cultures and events occurring in different parts of the world
  • Share information to provide students with new perspectives about the world in which they live

Application Process

  • The application and further information is available on the Fulbright Teacher Program website
  • All applications must be submitted to Richard Culp first for approval from FCPS. Upon FCPS approval, the application must then be submitted to Fulbright for final approval.
  • FCPS application submission deadline is Friday, September 24, 2012 for the 2013-2014 school year.
