Academy Course Program

What We Offer

The FCPS Academy Course Program is a virtual mini-university for teachers and other educational staff members providing courses offered by colleges or universities and the Academy Office (noncollege courses).

Academy courses are used for:

  • Licensure renewal
  • Salary -scale increases
  • Meeting VA technology standards
  • Meeting content course licensure requirements for teachers without Masters degrees

Instructors

FCPS contracts with college and university professors as well as FCPS instructional staff. Retired FCPS instructional staff are eligible to teach a course once they complete a full calendar year of retirement.

Who is Eligible for Enrollment?

Any FCPS full-time or part-time contracted employee eligible for employee benefits may register for FCPS Academy courses at no cost and may take one or more contract courses offered through the FCPS Academy catalog at no cost.

Is There a Cost to Participate?

The Academy Course Program is offered at no cost to eligible FCPS employees. All academy courses are paid for directly by FCPS.
