The Office of Program Evaluation (OPE) is both proactive and responsive to Fairfax County Public Schools' (FCPS) needs related to monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of individual schools. OPE provides selected schools, such as those participating in FCPS' Priority Schools Initiative, with a framework for identifying school-level factors that support student performance. In addition to the framework, Priority Schools receive annual individualized data on school conditions.
Upon request, OPE provides technical assistance to schools and clusters to help them build school capacity to monitor and judge their own effectiveness. This process involves a broad array of tools and processes for reflecting on and engaging in continuous improvement.
