Immunization Update

Effective July 1, 2006, a booster dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine is required for all students entering the 6th grade, if at least five years have passed since the last dose of tetanus-containing vaccine.Also effective July 1, 2006, Hepatitis B series is required for all enrolled students regardless of birth date or grade level. Complete immunization requirements are available. The Fairfax County Health Department has scheduled clinics to administer free Tdap vaccine to students who will be entering the sixth grade in fall 2006 and who need the vaccine to comply with new Virginia immunization requirements.  Hepatitis B vaccines will also be available for rising twelfth graders. Please note that an adult must accompany students and there is no charge for vaccines required for school. Bring your student's immunization records.
