At its October 25, 2012, regular business meeting, the School Board affirmed its interest in the Fairfax Leadership Academy (FLA) concept and in targeted efforts to address the educational needs of at-risk students. The Board deferred further consideration of the FLA charter school application until such time as FLA submits a revised application to the Board to substantially address concerns identified by the FCPS Charter School Review Committee and School Board members. The Board also voted to eliminate the former Graham Road Elementary School property as a possible site for the proposed FLA charter school.
The Fairfax County School Board held a public hearing on the Fairfax Leadership Academy application on Tuesday, October 9 at 6 p.m. at Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA.
