* Helen Mondloch, English teacher at Westfield, recently published a book, An American Breeze: A Whirlwind Theatrical Tour of American Literature, which involves students in a dramatic tour of major figures in American Literature.





* Deborah Foreman, elementary pyramid resource specialist for Cluster II, was named Ms. Alumni for 2007-08 by Norfolk State University (NSU). Foreman was selected for her involvement in the Greater Northern Virginia Chapter of NSU National Alumni Association activities, which includes raising funds for high school student scholarships.

* FCPS staff members (left to right in photo) Jim Baldwin, principal of Centre Ridge, Vicki Duling, principal of Franklin Sherman, Sandra Allison, principal of Belvedere, and Carolyn Gannaway, principal of Herndon Elementary, participated in the Virginia General Assembly Annual Legislative Day by meeting in person with members of the Virginia House of Delegates, the Senate, and Governor Kaine on Tuesday, January 15. This was an important opportunity for these educators to make their voices heard by the legislators who will vote on several bills that are currently being considered that could have a significant impact on school administrators.
