* Gary Bender, history and social studies teacher and yearbook adviser at Westfield, received Special Recognition in the Yearbook Adviser of the Year competition by the Journalism Education Association. The program is designed to honor outstanding high school publications advisers and their work from the previous school year. He will receive his award in April at the Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association convention in Phoenix.
