Entrepreneurship: Only at the Marshall Academy

Entrepreneurship provides students opportunities for students to learn the process of developing, financing, and marketing a new product or service through an interactive curriculum. Course covers various aspects of financing an entrepreneurial venture. In addition students will conduct an in-depth study of entrepreneurial marketing strategies and techniques. The course will examine how start-ups or small to medium sized businesses with distinct needs market within limited budgets. Students will apply concepts that they have learned in class by completing a business plan. Classroom instruction will be supplemented with industry guest speakers, field experiences, and the co-curricular student organization DECA. Any questions? New Course for 2008 - 2009: Entrepreneurship 2 (909526)
Grade 12
Credit: 1 Prerequisite: Entrepreneurship 1
Entrepreneurship Level 2 is an advanced course enabling students to further investigate and prepare for owning and operating a small business. Students must have successfully completed Entrepreneurship Level One (Course Code 909426) in order to participate in this class. Students enrolled in this class are encouraged to pursue the Business developed in Entrepreneurship Level One. The curriculum provides an in-depth study of business ownership. Students will develop a deeper understanding of the role of Marketing and Finance in their business success in order to implement their Business Plan. Classroom instruction will be supplemented with industry guest speakers, field experiences, and the co-curricular student organization DECA. Students will have the option of earning additional credits through the co-op program. It will be offered in period 3.
