William Joyce

William Joyce has put his personal stamp on all types of children's media. His picture books include The Man in the Moon and George Shrinks. He's won three Emmy awards for his Rolie Polie Olie animated series, developed character concepts for Toy Story and A Bug's Life, and made films including Robots and Meet the Robinsons. He is co-director of the DreamWorks Animation Rise of the Guardians. He is also the writer, producer, and production designer on Fox Studios' Leaf Men and The Brave Good Bugs, based on his book.

 

Joyce answers questions posed by students via telephone and e-mail, and talks to students from Springfield Estates Elementary via Skype.  He demonstrates the iPad app he created, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore—touted by Apple as one of the top new iPad apps.  Joyce also discusses his approach to writing and illustrating books.
