Mollusk Phylum

The Mollusk Phylum is split into Classes. Several Classes are listed below:

Bivalvia Class: Called "bivavles." These animals have a two part "shell." Includes: Mussels, Clams, Oysters, and Scallops.

Gastropoda Class: Called "gastropods." Includes Snails and Slugs. These animals are soft-bodied with tentacles. Snails have a hard shell for protection, slugs do not.

Cephalopoda Class: Called "cephalopods." These animals have many tentacles. Includes Octopus and Squid. These animals are not found in our area!
