All-County Choral Festival

The 41st Sixth Grade All-County Choral Festival sponsored by the Fairfax General Music Educators Association and the FCPS Instructional Services Department will be held at Hayfield Secondary School on April 19 and 20, 2013.  The festival will involve 925 sixth grade students from over 120 FCPS elementary and middle schools. Students are selected by audition and participate in extra choral rehearsals with their elementary and middle school general music teachers.  The students rehearse on Friday and most of Saturday with a conductor who specializes in working with children’s choirs. The conductors come from all over the country and are nationally recognized in their field. The two days of rehearsal culminate in a performance at Hayfield Secondary on Saturday, April 20 at 3:00 pm.
