Tech Adventure Camp

Tech Adventure Camp is designed to give students the opportunity to explore careers and technology as they rotate through eight areas over a two week program.  The camp is open to students in grades 5-7 during the 2012-2013 school year.

Camp forms will be posted on June 1st.

Please complete the application along with a credit card number, check, or money order for the tuition amount made payable to Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Tech Adventure Camp (TAC). Payment must be received to process registration.  Cash will not be accepted for tuition payment.  Confirmation of placement will be mailed to the address or e-mail address listed in the application. If you have not received confirmation within two weeks, please call Cara Kirby.  Space is limited to the first 400 participants.

Tuition:

In-County:  

  • Feb 4 – April 5 ($400)
  • April 6 – May 31 ($450)

Out-of-County:

  • Feb 4 – April 5 ($450)
  • April 6 – May 31 ($500)

A second camper from the same family can enjoy a discount of $50.00 on the camp tuition. Transportation, materials and supplies are included.

Reduced fee and tuition waivers are not available for this elective program.  

Lunch:

Students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch for the midday break. Limited lunch selections will be available each day.

Transportation:

Students may arrange their own transportation to Lake Braddock Secondary School or use (FCPS) bus transportation at no additional cost. Pick-up sites will be at select high school locations only. Pick-up sites and bus schedules will be posted online in late June 2013.

There is no before or after camp care through Tech Adventure Camp. Continuing day classes at Lake Braddock will be available through ACE for an additional charge. No transportation is included with the continuing day classes.

How to Submit a Refund or Withdrawal Request:

  1. Prepare a written request for a refund or complete the form.
  2. Include in the request: student’s name, home address for the parent or guardian, phone number, amount paid, reason for request, and signature. The written request must be received by July 1, 2013.

  3. Mail the written request to: Tech Adventure Camp, Attn: Cara Kirby, Fairfax County Public Schools, 3rd Floor CTE, 3877 Fairfax Ridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.

  4. A $40 processing fee is assessed on all refund requests.

  5. Please allow several weeks for processing.
