Currently eight high schools offer JROTC programs supported by the Navy, Army, Air Force, or Marines. The JROTC program provides a four-year, sequential program of instruction that emphasizes academic preparation, citizenship, leadership, character development, and the scope and nature of the particular military service branch. The program is available to all students in grades 9-12 at their specific school sites and to students who want to take advantage of a student transfer to enroll in the program. Parents or guardians are advised to review the student transfer regulation and frequently asked questions before making a request. The specific military branch contracts with the individual school and the school system to offer this program.
