ESOL Volunteer Opportunities

Would you like to assist ESOL teachers and students at major ESOL sites? Call Carolyn Kulisheck at 703-658-2755 if interested.

Free training opportunities to community volunteer ESOL teachers.

  • Held at locations throughout Fairfax County.
  • Saturday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Advanced reservations are required.

Education For Independence (EFI)

EFI is a program for single parents and displaced (widowed, separated, or divorced) homemakers that includes counseling, job training, and support services.

Requirements for eligibility:

  • Must have custody of minor-age children.
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States.
  • Must meet income guidelines.
  • Must be a Fairfax County resident.

EFI is supported by grants and donations. Supporters include the Fairfax County Consolidated Community Funding Pool.

Veterans

ACE is a certified provider of education and training for veterans. Veterans can use their educational benefits to pay for certain apprenticeship courses of study, such as electricity, plumbing, HVAC-R and surveying. For more information, contact ACE Student Services.

ACE Training and Scholarship Foundation

The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization created to provide tuition assistance to low- and moderate-income adult students needing to enroll in occupational training, basic education, high school completion, apprenticeship, or certificate programs offered by ACE.

The Foundation has awarded over 100 ACE scholarships to date! We appreciate the Foundation’s recognition of ACE adult education programs as a valuable resource to the community and gratefully acknowledge the support of its donors.
