Established in 1975, the ACE Advisory Committee has been closely involved in the life and evolution of Adult and Community Education and in the education programs for children, adults, and community through the years. The Committee meets monthly, visits classroom sites, and attends graduations and special events in support of Adult and Community Education programs and students.
The ACE Committee members are appointed by the respective magisterial and at-large FCPS School Board members.
1. Examine the organization and curriculum alignment between K-12 and ACE programs, and identify opportunities for increased collaboration and synergy in supporting the Student Achievement Goals and increasing post-secondary workforce opportunities.
2. Assess current marketing to the general and workforce communities by ACE programs with particular reference to course accessibility, Student Achievement Goals, Adult High School Completion, family literacy, Adult ESOL, workforce skills and economic advancement, and explore methods to increase enrollment in ACE programs.
The ACE Advisory Committee meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. Below are the meeting dates for 2011-2012. Meetings are held at The Plum Center for Lifelong Learning from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
