Approximately 275 people from the Longfellow Middle School community participated in the school’s second annual 5K Fun Run after taking part in a Zumba warm-up.

 

 

 

Sixth grade students recited their favorite poems for the annual Parent Volunteer Tea at Flint Hill Elementary School.

 

This Oakton High School Art 1 student was selected as a featured artist for his painted personalities.

 

First grade students from Annandale Terrace Elementary School visited the memorial to President Franklin Roosevelt during a field trip to Washington, D.C.

Students from Twain Middle School show off their Architecture in Schools class projects.

 

Sixth grade students from Springfield Estates Elementary School visited George Mason University for a tour of the campus and information about college opportunities.

Students from Rocky Run Middle School visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., as part of a field trip.

 

Students at Bailey’s Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences perform a band and strings concert to exhibit what they have learned.

As part of their unit on community helpers, kindergarten and preschool students at Deer Park Elementary School  met a commercial truck driver, got a close look at the truck and the sleeping section, and held the steering wheel. 

 

Churchill Road Elementary School first grade students release the worms they studied as part of their science unit into flower beds in front of the school.

Sculptor Kevin Reese worked with Oakton Elementary School students to design, create, and erect a sculpture which was partially assembled by students in grades 4-6.

 

As part of a service learning project, kindergarten students at Union Mill Elementary School worked in teams to collect, bag, record, and manage trash pickup; the classes made SMARTBoard graphs of how much trash they collected.
