Robert R. Spillane Leadership Award

The Robert R. Spillane Leadership Award was created to recognize and pay tribute to Dr. Robert “Bud” Spillane, who served as Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools for 12 years. Winners are FCPS employees who ”keep the main thing the main thing” by making significant impact on the academic achievement of students. Employees may be nominated for a specific project or initiative, or for sustained, noteworthy contributions to the academic mission of FCPS. Both instructional and support employees are eligible for this award.

Award nominees are honored at the FCPS Leadership Conference, which is held every August. Two winners are announced at the Leadership Conference, and they each receive a $1,000 check.
