“Recognizing multiple pathways to results”
These exciting new awards celebrate the efforts and achievements of employees whose job performance produces exceptional results that support the mission and vision of FCPS. As a reinvention of the Outstanding Performance Award (OPA), the Excellence Awards recognize multiple pathways to results by using nomination categories based on the school system’s goals.
- Individual Excellence Award: Any contracted employee may be nominated by their immediate supervisor. Selected recipients will receive a $500 cash award and a certificate from the Superintendent of Schools.
- Collaborative Team Excellence Award: Contracted employees working on a team are eligible to be nominated by the team’s principal/program manager. If the team is selected as a recipient, each qualifying member will receive a $500 cash award and a certificate from the Superintendent of Schools.
Award Categories
- Growth: Nominee or Team contributes to the development and/or improvement of programs, services, or curriculum; fosters staff growth, staff effectiveness, or professional development.
- Impact: Nominee or Team contributes to efficiency or effectiveness through innovation, cost savings, creativity, or problem solving; displays outstanding responsiveness, customer service, or customer satisfaction.
- Student Achievement: Nominee or Team contributes to the success of individual/groups of students to help them realize their full potential. This may be accomplished by closing achievement gaps, measuring progress/use of assessments, implementation of interventions, or student engagement.
- Community Engagement: Nominee or Team is key to successful partnerships and outreach to parents, businesses, or neighborhoods; provides community service or service learning projects.
