Excellence in leading schools, teaching students, and supporting schools is what Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is all about. The Department of Human Resources sponsors recognition of our outstanding performers as they seek to create and demonstrate best instructional and support practices.

Award Programs

Employee of the Year Awards

The FCPS Honors awards gala recognizes the greatest achievements in education. The event is made possible through a collaboration with the Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools, a non-profit educational institution whose mission is to advance the goals of FCPS through resource development and business partnerships.

Excellence Awards

Principals and program managers may recognize employees and teams who have performed outstanding work and whose additional contributions to the school system extend beyond expected work-performance standards.

Recognition Programs

Retirement Ceremony

FCPS holds a divisionwide retirement ceremony, known as We Honor You, twice a year (fall/winter and spring/summer). To learn about upcoming ceremonies and view photos from the previous ceremony please visit the Retirement Page.

Employee Service Recognition

Service Recognition congratulates all dedicated employees who have contributed years of service to FCPS. Certificates are prepared for employees celebrating 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 years of service.
