The POS plan offers a local network of providers, with access to out of network providers nationwide. You must designate a participating primary care provider (PCP), who coordinates your care. Pharmacy benefits are provided through Express Scripts, Inc.
The PPO plan offers a nationwide network of providers. You can seek care at in- or out-of-network providers. You do not need a referral to see a specialist, nor do you have to choose a PCP. Pharmacy benefits are provided through Express Scripts, Inc.
The HMO plan are in centers in the metropolitan Washington D.C. and Baltimore area. You must select a primary care physician who coordinates your care, including referrals to specialists when needed. Out-of-network services are not covered, except for emergency care. Pharmacy benefits are provided directly through Kaiser Permanente HMO.

The two available prescription plans are provided through your medical insurance plan. Enrollment in prescription coverage is automatic when you enroll in medical coverage.
Express Scripts is the plan for CareFirst insurance plan participants. They offer services through a network of 61,000 participating pharmacies, including major chains and independent pharmacies, a specialty pharmacy, and a mail-service pharmacy.
Kaiser manages its own retail and mail service pharmacy plan, which is only available to Kaiser Permanente Signature HMO insurance plan participants.

You will automatically have the UnitedHealthcare Vision plan coverage when you enroll in any FCPS medical plan option.

We offer employees a choice of two dental insurance plans, both provided by Aetna. Employees may enroll in a dental plan through FCPS without enrolling in a medical plan through FCPS.
