Walking Routes

Students may be required to walk to schools or bus stops up to:
- 1 mile for elementary students
- 1.5 miles for secondary students
Official distances are measured with a walking wheel, not by vehicle odometer
In the case of two or more acceptable walking routes, the route shortest in distance will be selected and considered valid
Walking routes will be measured from school property line to residence property lines
Walking routes may be evaluated for unusual hazards by transportation and school safety staff
