- School buses are the preferred mode of travel, but other vehicles may be used as approved. Note: Buses may have different seating capacities due to wheelchair, car seat, or other requirements.

- When school buses are not available or appropriate to transport students, other vehicles may be used. See the below conditions that do apply.
- Vehicles used to transport 10 or more students must be approved school buses or commercial buses.
- Groups fewer than 10 students may travel by vehicles designed to transport 10 passengers or less including the driver, provided these vehicles meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and state standards applicable to passenger car occupant protection standards at the time the vehicle was manufactured. Each passenger must have a seat and a seatbelt certified by the vehicle manufacturer. Owner or dealer installed seats and/or seatbelts are not considered to be certified.
