Several members of our Transportation family have been recognized for their Outstanding Achievements with Outstanding Performance Awards |
Janet Tarr, Route Technician for Special Education
JT was recognized for her outstanding work in developing databases and training employees to use them. She is known for her cherry disposition, “can-do” attitude, extraordinary patience and sense of calm during trying times. Janet was recently promoted to functional applications specialist with the Customer Service Team within the Department of Facilities and Transportation Services.
Andrew Tompros, Bus Driver for Special Education
Andy has driven nearly every day of his 5 ½ years with Transportation Services. He’s an on-the-job trainer and mentors new drivers. Andy is very active in his community and does volunteer work with disadvantaged children. He is devoted to his students and a role model for other drivers. For these reasons, Andrew was recognized with an Outstanding Performance Award.
Arthur Hurlock, Bus Driver for Area II Transportation (no picture available).
Art is known for his dedication to teamwork in the assistance he has provided to his transportation office and supervisory staff, as well as his concern and care for his fellow employees. He has many commendations from co-workers, citizens, administrators, and managers. Art can be counted on to always put the safety of his passengers first.
Ken Makely, Bus Driver for Special Education
Ken was honored by the Leadership Team on March 28, 2006, with an ABC Award. Ken came to the aid of a citizen who was being attacked by two large dogs. Ken’s quick action and assistance clearly saved the woman from more severe injuries than she sustained. Ken absolutely went Above & Beyond the Call of duty!
