- It takes nearly 1100 drivers and over 300 attendants to get our children to and from school safely each day.
- Only well qualified drivers and attendants are selected.
- Each is provided extensive training to prepare them to transport our children.
- About 144 hours training and observation, and testing is provided to all applicants before they are approved to be FCPS bus drivers. This training consists of classroom, behind-the-wheel, first aid and CPR, special needs, and several days of on-the-job driving under the watchful eye of designated trainers.
- Attendants receive several days of instruction and testing in special needs, child restraint systems, use of wheelchair lifts, and proper wheelchair securement.
