As part of Fairfax County Public Schools' continuing efforts to maintain safe schools, a telephone hot line is available. The Tip Line phone number is 703-658-3636.
School administrators encourage students and community members to report school safety issues, such as dangerous rumors, drug use, theft, harassment, gang activities, existence of weapons, and vandalism. Tip Line users may identify themselves or remain anonymous, and calls will not be traced.
Commenting on the Tip Line, Superintendent Jack D. Dale said, "We are convinced that the Tip Line will help students and community members play key roles in deterring acts of crime and violence. Calls will be routed to our school security officers, who will contact principals and if necessary, the Fairfax County Police Department."
The Office of Safety and Security provides schools with bookmarks that provide Tip Line information. These are placed at each school's front desk, in the library, and in other key locations throughout the building.
