Radio Frequency Energy Emission Survey of FCPS Facilities |

| Summary |
| In response to a directive from the School Board, staff
in the Office of Safety and Security acquired sophisticated equipment
designed to measure levels of radio frequency (RF) energy emissions. This
equipment was used to conduct tests at school sites both with and without
monopoles. The purpose of the testing was to determine if RF energy levels
were below the standards adopted by the Federal Communication Commission
(FCC). To date, approximately 349 sample locations, FCPS sites with and without monopoles, have been surveyed. For FCPS site with monopoles, the results indicate that the average maximum power density levels in exterior spaces for cell phone transmit/receive frequencies are approximately 121,793 times lower than the FCC standard. For FCPS sites with monopoles, the results indicate that the average maximum power density levels in interior spaces for cell phone transmit/receive frequencies measure over 1,277,102 times lower than the FCC standard. It is clear that FCPS facilities are in compliance with the standards adopted by the FCC in consultation with leading experts in the field of non-ionizing radiation.
