Each year, Fairfax County Public Schools develops a five-year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to address future facility needs. The CIP evaluates requirements for new facilities, renewals of existing facilities, infrastructure management and other facility-related needs. The list of capital projects resulting from this assessment provides a clear statement of school facility requirements. Actual completion dates for CIP projects depend on cash flow and debt service limitations established by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Superintendent Jack D. Dale has released the school system's FY 2009-13 Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which includes new schools, renovations, and additions over five years.
