The Office of Facilities Management is responsible for providing preventive and corrective maintenance to all Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) buildings. Facilities Management also provides project management for capital outlay and minor improvement projects, and manages the monitoring and mitigation of environmental hazards at FCPS buildings. Maintenance and repair services are provided for over 200 facilities containing in excess of 25 million square feet of space and 1,700 acres of property.

Work Locations
To enable the department to better serve schools, Facilities Management work locations are distributed throughout Fairfax County. We recognize that, when considering employment, work location and commuting time can be a major deciding factor. In many cases, applicants have a choice of work locations. If not initially, prospective employees may have later opportunities to transfer to more convenient work locations.

Facilities Management is comprised of a wide variety of technical, trade and administrative positions. Most trade positions offer career ladder opportunities to enable exceptional employees to advance.
