School Boundary Information

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view (pdf) documents.

School Assignment and Boundaries

School assignment is determined by residence address. In order to provide expanded access to boundary information, Fairfax County Public Schools has introduced the School Boundary Information System. School assignments for a particular address within Fairfax County may also be obtained 24 hours a day by calling the Interactive Voice Recognition system at 703-329-9831.

School boundaries are reevaluated each year and may be adjusted accordingly. School boundary information is provided for the current school year only.

Boundary Studies

Current News

The Fairfax County School Board will hold Spring 2009 Boundary Studies to provide enrollment relief to two schools—Annandale High School and Fort Belvoir Elementary School—that are currently overcrowded. Specifics for each study can be reviewed below.

Continuing Interest

For additional information on boundary studies, please contact the Office of Facilities Planning Services at boundaries@fcps.edu.

School Boundary Maps

Individual school boundary maps can be viewed and printed through the Schools and Centers Directory, and can also be purchased for $12.00 each from the FCPS Office of Facilities Planning Services, 10640 Page Avenue, Suite 300, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. School boundary maps may also be referenced at all Fairfax County Public Libraries.

Student Registration

Individual schools schedule new-student registration dates in early August. However, students may be enrolled at any time, and parents are urged to register their children as soon as possible after arrival in the area.
