Play the video clip
In celebration of International Education Week, students from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST), a Virginia governor's school for mathematics, science, and technology, had a live conversation with International Space Station crew members. On Tuesday, November 15, 2005, TJHSST students, speaking in both English and Russian, placed a very long distance video conference call to American astronaut Bill McArthur and Russian cosmonaut Valery Tokarev.

Program guests discuss the history of the International Space Station, the experiments performed there, and the lessons we learn from space.

International Education Week was developed by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to emphasize the global aspect of education.
