David Wisniewski

Author and illustrator of Caldecott Award-winner, Golem, Wisniewski's beautiful books are intricately illustrated with paper cutouts. His fables, including Elfwyn’s Saga and Sundiata: Lion King of Mali, “pull at readers’ hearts as well as their minds.”

This program visited Wisniewski in his studio to see his work in progress, Sumo Mouse, how he created his paper cut-outs, and how he revised the images in Golem.

David Wisniewski passed away on September 11, 2002.
